The following is an article taken from the site oecumene.radiovaticana.org, describing the initiative supported by ATS pro Terra Sancta which has enabled the exhibition of mosaics from the Holy Land at Al Quds University in Jerusalem.

“The mosaics of the Holy Land are proof of the rich cultural and religious heritage of the region. This was what made us organise the exhibition “Mosaics of the Holy Land: A bridge of tiles across the Mediterranean”, which continues until 4th June at Al Quds University in Abu Dis, Jerusalem. Organised by the “Mosaic Centre Jericho” with the help of ATS pro Terra Sancta, the non-profit organisation of the Custody of the Holy Land, and with funding from the European Union, the exhibition collects reproductions of prominent masterpieces from a diverse range of locations and historical periods. 8 artists; 2 Europeans and 6 Palestinians used ancient techniques and materials to reproduce the mosaics. During the inaugural conference, several experts told of the history and importance of this art form in the Holy Land. The exhibition will relocate in the coming months, first to Hebron and then to Europe. (D.M)”
