Cultural walks

Association  pro Terra Sancta would like to make itself available to go with you in your visit to the City of Jerusalem, giving you the chance to choose among a wide range of short walks that you can easily insert in your travel itinerary!

As we are delivering several projects in the city, Association pro Terra Sancta is very active in regards to the preservation and improvement of the Holy Places and the support of the local Christian communities.  Your guides will be volunteers or young collaborators involved in such activities and the donations that we request before the visits will go towards funding these projects. The walks are ideal for individuals, couples or small groups, but also for bigger groups and they are available in English and Italian. The duration of every individual tour is around 2-3 hours.

These are our suggestions:

1. OLD JERUSALEM: A walk around the walls. Walking on the imposing walls, built under the rule of Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th Century, you will be able to admire the beauty of the Holy City from all the different perspectives and angles.

2. OLD JERUSALEM: Discover the four districts. A route through the Old City and its districts: The Armenian one, the Jewish one, the Muslim one and the Christian one. Each of them is different to the others and is capable of fascinating you in a different way and of telling you a little bit of the history of the city.

3. JERUSALEM AT NIGHT: A rooftop evening walk in the Old City. From the Armenian district we will take a rooftop walk that will take us to the Jewish district, where we will descent down to the Wailing Wall.

4. MOUNT OF OLIVES: The Holy Places, from Gethsemane to the Ascension. A walk through all the Holy Places found on the Mount of Olives: Gethsemane, Dominus Flevit, Pater Noster, the Ascension… following the footsteps of Jesus.

5. NEW JERUSALEM: Discover the districts of Musrara and Yamin Moshe. Just outside the Old City, we find the districts of Musrara and Yamin Moshe. Both of them are among the oldest districts outside the walls and both are striking and full of fascinating stories.
