This Christmas give a new hope to Bethlehem

Many families are already preparing for Christmas: but for those from the small Christian community of Bethlehem it is far more difficult to await with joy the birth of Jesus.

Unemployment, poverty, violence, water emergency and a complete lack of health care make it impossible, for many mothers and fathers, to bring up their children in a healthy and peaceful environment; and make it difficult to care for elderly parents and to provide the necessary medical care for the entire family.

For centuries the Franciscan friars of the Custody of the Holy Land have been working to safeguard the Holy Places linked to the Nativity of the Lord, as well as the local Christian community and above all its most vulnerable elements. We wish to ensure that their charitable work can continue.

Your gift, an immediate help for the families of Bethlehemmap-betlemme

This is how we transform your generosity:

  • with 50 euros you provide winter clothing for 2 children in need;
  • with 150 euros you ensure the monthly milk requirement for 3 children, and contribute to their development;
  • with 300 euros you support monthly medical therapy for three chronically ill people;
  • with 800 euros you permit 2 families to have a Solar Panel and a new water tank on their roof, in an area of constant water emergencies,

You can also choose to sponsor a child.

We cannot abandon the families of Bethlehem

With your contribution you can help to improve the living conditions of the Christians of Bethlehem, where 2,000 years ago the Child Jesus was born. Education, medicines, water and food are things that many of us take for granted, but not those living in Bethlehem.

Just as the Holy Family needed help, so too children, mothers, fathers and grandparents of Bethlehem today are looking to all of us for an immediate support.
