Jerusalem: works are continuing on the new library at St. Saviour’s Monastery

The library of the Custody of the Holy Land will soon be transferred from its present site to its new and much larger location in St. Saviour’s Monastery, in the Christian quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. Building and renovation works to adapt the site to its new usage are continuing at a steady pace.

The numerous local workers involved in the construction of the new library are participants in the project “Jerusalem, Stones of Memory”, which ATS pro Terra Sancta is carrying out in coordination with Bursar’s Office of the Custody using experts from the Technical Office of the Custody of the Holy Land.

By the end of May all of the furnishings and bookcases will be in place, so that in June and July books can be transferred from the current library to the new site.
