Sponsor a child in Bethlehem

What is Child Sponsorship?

If you sponsor a child in Bethlehem you will ensure his or her well-being: education, healthcare, regular food at the Terra Sancta School, and participation in after-school activities. You will get him or her off the streets.

With only 1 euro a day and a commitment of at least 3 years you will allow this child to grow up in a healthy and safe environment, supported by teachers and educators.

How to sponsor a child?

  • Download this form and send it by mail, e-mail or fax (please note that the form is valid for European citizens only. Residents in other countries can donate here).

We work with the Franciscan Social Service Office of Bethlehem: they manage daily many difficult requests for support, and they tell us which families and children need urgent help.

Why is sponsoring so important?

The conflict, which has been going on for decades, and the difficult socio-economic situation in the Holy Land have had a serious impact on the local population. The most affected and the most vulnerable are the children; they suffer physically and psychologically.

Child Sponsorship allows you to commit yourself to supporting a child in Bethlehem, a child who will grow up in a safe environment, receive a good education at the Franciscan schools, and be sure that he won’t suffer from lack of medical or psychological treatment.

In order to assure an ongoing and long-term support, we ask you to be committed to the child for at least three years. Once your sponsorship has begun, you will be frequently updated with photos, news, cards and letters from the child. You will receive a personal file about the child and an official certificate. You can also visit him or her in Bethlehem!

Show him that a different future is possible – a future of peace and stability.

«Wherever children are accepted, loved, cared for and protected, the family is healthy, society improves and the world is more human…». Pope Francis, on his visit to the Holy Land May 25th, 2014
