Voices from Gaza: the Sisters of the Incarnate Word

Gaza is in the midst of a very difficult situation: bombings, deaths, destruction. Those who suffer the most are the weakest, the children, the poor, the last ones. Gaza’s community of only 1300 Christians, who come together in the Latin parish of the Holy Family, has been suffering tremendously. Up until just a few days ago, some of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word were still working hard to help out in the crisis, but they were forced to evacuate because the situation has become increasingly dangerous.

“We are three sisters and there are two priests at the institute. – declares sr. Maria Laudes Gloriae – Today, only the parish priest, Fr. Jorge has stayed behind. I thought that after the entrance of the ground forces, the bombings would’ve diminished but they are still going on. People are very frightened.”
