Since yesterday, Aleppo has once again become the scene of armed clashes between government forces and Kurdish groups. The violence is particularly affecting some neighborhoods of the city, forcing many families to hastily evacuate their homes in order to seek safety.
In these hours of great uncertainty, the Terra Santa College has opened its doors to offer shelter to those fleeing the fighting: we are currently hosting around 60 people, including women, the elderly, and children. Alongside this hospitality, the Aleppo Soup Kitchen continues its work without interruption, providing hot meals and an essential point of support for those who have lost everything.
Our daily commitment in Aleppo
In the midst of all this pain, Pro Terra Sancta does not stop.
Every day we are at the side of those who are hungry, those who can't make it, those who have lost everything.
With the “Five loaves and two fish” project, we guarantee:
- 1,200 hot meals a day, cooked in the canteen
- 600 kg of bread a day, produced in our solidarity bakery, distributed six days a week
- Home deliveries for those who cannot leave their homes: lonely elderly people, sick or disabled people
- Support for orphanages and nursing homes, to which we provide more than 50 meals a day
