In Syria, the State is no longer able to guarantee electricity, and energy is rationed: families have access to running water, gas, and electricity for only six hours a day.
At the same time, the cost of electricity has increased by 300%. For thousands of families, this means living in the dark, struggling to preserve food, facing winter without heating, and studying by candlelight.
Added to this are the damages caused by the earthquake, years of war, and recent clashes that have left thousands of homes in precarious conditions.
In the face of this situation, we continue to act on two complementary fronts: rebuilding damaged homes and providing stable energy through solar panels. Only by combining these two interventions can we give families back not just a roof, but a true place to live—a home from which they can start again with dignity and hope.
A Light for Syria
In 2022 in Aleppo, we launched the project “A Light for Syria.” Thanks to the installation of two solar panels—one photovoltaic and one thermal— we provide each beneficiary family with continuous energy and hot water.
The families who have already received the panels describe a real, everyday change. Musa, sitting in his finally illuminated living room, simply told us: “My wife Leila no longer has to wash all our newborn’s clothes by hand.” Georgette, an elderly woman bedridden with serious respiratory problems, can now use without interruption the ventilator she depends on.
In 2026, we aim to extend this support to 4 educational centers and 2 residences for the elderly, where continuous access to electricity is essential to ensure proper care and basic services.
