While the surrounding conflict undermines every certainty, the Terra Sancta College in Bethlehem stands as a lifeline and a beacon of normalcy.
After a dramatic period marked by partial closures and online lessons, since the beginning of April the school has courageously reopened its doors to all students, of every grade and level. This is a minor local miracle: it is enough to consider that public schools in the area are currently struggling to guarantee even three days of classes per week.
The Terra Sancta School needs you!
The war reached Bethlehem in a quieter but no less tragic way; with no more pilgrims in this city, which is strictly dependent on tourism, all hotels and hospitality businesses are closed, and families no longer have the money for their children's tuition fees. The financial difficulties remain immense. At the moment, we have not yet managed to cover the costs for all 402 children who cannot afford the tuition. As of today, the fees for 114 children are still uncovered. Without this support, the very stability of the school is at risk.
