The opening ceremony of the Exhibition “Nativities from around the world – Let’s contemplate the Mystery with St. Francis” took place on Christmas Eve at the Friars Minor Convent in Cermenate (Co), in Via Montebello. The initiative, at its IV edition, is presented with 15 photo panels telling the story of the Nativity of Greccio.
The Nativities on display are from all over the world and were acquired mainly in their country of origin. They are in terra-cotta, banana leaves, ceramic, wood, cloth and tell the story of traditions, colours and smells of close and distant countries.
This year will also introduce two special Nativities, created by the students of primary and secondary school in Cermenate. Another new element this year is the Myanmar Nativity, with the figurines displayed inside a wooden fish.
The initiative, promoted in collaboration with ATS pro Terra Sancta, is aimed at supporting the campaign “AT CHRISTMAS TIME A RETURN TO THE BEGINNING”, to collect funds for the people inBethlehem.
