"Majus" in Arabic means "Magi", and "Dar" is the translation of "house"; therefore the bazaar is "the house of the Magi", the place where local artisans build gifts full of meaning and value.

Since 2022, the Dar Al-Majus bazaar has been active in Bethlehem at the Dar Al-Majus Community Home, a fair trade project that has helped mitigate the heavy economic and social damage that the crisis in religious tourism has caused in the Holy Land.

With a network of thirty suppliers, including associations of disabled people, women and local artisans, the bazaar offers a variety of high-quality products: souvenirs made of olive wood, ceramics and terracotta, silver and mother-of-pearl objects, embroidered fabrics. Every purchase at the bazaar contributes to supporting vulnerable people and the humanitarian projects that the Pro Terra Sancta Association carries out in Bethlehem, and gives visitors the opportunity to take with them a tangible souvenir from the city of the Child Jesus.

In addition to the sale of souvenirs, the Dar Al-Majus has taken an active role in supporting its suppliers to help them improve their products and better manage their businesses; In this way, the promotion of local Palestinian tradition and production is accompanied by a positive impact on the lives of the people involved.

Dar Al-Majus wants to be an example of how innovation and solidarity can help overcome difficulties, how through art and collaboration we can break down cultural barriers and face the most complex situations. At a time of economic crisis such as the one Bethlehem is experiencing now, it is essential to keep the local economy alive, preserving the richness of the local tradition and helping to improve the lives of the people who populate it.
