Amid the rubble and wounds of war, we want to create a place of welcome, learning, and peace for over 150 children, young people, and mothers.
Why specifically in Sheikh Maqsoud?
A wounded neighborhood trying to rebuild
In the Kurdish neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo, the scene of violent clashes, the destruction and psychological wounds still run deep. Many families have returned, but they live in isolation, fear, and without basic services.
To respond to this emergency, Pro Terra Sancta and the Franciscan friars have rented a building from the Greek Catholic Church on the Hill of the Virgin. We want to transform it into a place open to everyone (Christians, Kurds, Sunnis, and Shiites), where people can overcome distrust, heal trauma, and rediscover the path of hope together.
