Young people in Jerusalem's Old City face challenging living conditions. They become infected with the epidemic of school dropouts, and they frequently become involved in drug selling and organized crime. These tendencies are exacerbated by Jerusalem's religious diversity, which is frequently regarded as a source of competitiveness.In this framework, the Custody friars founded the Magnificat musical school in 1995, which is open to children and young adults of all faiths. Muslims, Jews, and Christians all grow up in a culture where music is used to promote cultural understanding.The association promotes campaigns to support training activities, to acquire tools and to organize musical events organized in the Holy Land and aimed at meeting all local communities, without distinction of race, culture and religion.
