Syria/Knaye and Yacoubieh – Emergency Centre
Syria
context & objective
Knaye and Yacoubieh are two villages in Northern Syria, not far from the Turkish border. In 2012, the Islamic forces of al-Nusra occupied the area, causing devastation and hindering the activities of Christians, gathered around the Franciscan father Hannah Jallouf.
Pro Terra Sancta has established an emergency center in the villages of Knaye and Yacoubieh, where basic essentials such as food, clothing, and hygiene supplies are distributed. In addition, the Association gives vouchers for the purchase of fuel, which is required to generate energy, as well as medicines and therapeutic materials.
Pro Terra Sancta provided financial assistance to 60 displaced Christian families, covering the costs of the children’s education and the salaries of the teachers of the local school.
